1 week agoSometimes, living with a chronic illness means giving up on things that are good, but which cost too much. Not because one doesn’t want to pay the price, but because one can’t anymore. And sometimes those decisions are long overdue, and the sense of relief at no longer feeling the pressure of one’s own expectations stands side by side with the grief of yet another loss. Just a random thought.

3 weeks agoI have lost a lot of family over the years. It never gets any easier. Soon my Aunt will be shuffling this mortal coil and moving to the next great journey. We had not been as close as we used to, but I would always check on her when I talked to my mom. For the past 2 years she had setback after setback with her health, and due to the neglect of the local medical community at every turn she is now laying in a bed in a hospice with 3 months to live. I don't think she will live that long. Yesterday seeing her laid in that bed looking like a literal skeleton was one of the hardest things I have had to witness in my life. So I sit here. Angry. Broken Hearted and at a loss. Hug your loved ones while you can, because life can turn on a dime and you don't want to be left standing wondering how you could have done x, y, z differently.

that's 70gb of freed up storage! this is for a 26 hour long stream, so it comes out to ~1gb/hr (useful to keep in mind for future streams)
before compressing, i didn't think i'd have enough space to upload the whole stream, but now it definitely would fit in the storage i current have available, so now i can start to plan and prepare these recordings for uploading :)

2 months agoSambal Goreng Tempeh
Portions: 2
1 block tempeh, 1 onion (diced), 3 tsp sambal oelek, 1 tsp laospowder, 6 tbsp ketjap manis (I do this by feel, tbh), 50 gram brown sugar (basterd suiker)
Prep: dice the tempeh, and pre-fry it. I use an airfryer for this stage. Mix the diced tempeh with a tiny bit of sunflower oil and fry it for 10 minutes on 180 degrees C.
Put like 1 tbsp of sunflower oil in a skillet, and fry the onion. Add the sambal, the laos powder, sugar, and ketjap manis. Stir well, and let it boil softly while stirring.
Add the tempeh and mix it with everything else until it is coated. Warm it through for another 5-10 minutes on low-medium heat.
Enjoy!
