The hype is almost reverse now . With opus , sonnet and haiku 5.5 , why should I care about Chinese models that are so behind ? Also Jev seems like killed a big chunk of deepseek market too .

I personally used it for secondary research agents and classification . Now classification part is gone .

This is promising, but there's one feature that's missing that I really care about: fine-grained networking.

They have this for Windows and Linux, but it's sadly missing for macOS - see the support table here: https://github.com/microsoft/mxc/blob/main/docs/backends/sea...

Things macOS is missing include "Allow/deny by hostname" and "Allow/deny by IP, CIDR, port, or protocol".

The rest all looks great, and if you are on Linux or Windows those restrictions don't apply.

I guess this is the universal challenge of building an abstraction layer over multiple different technologies.

Oh, ok. lol.

The problem with the Peace Prize in general, or this time? It's not entirely clear to me what you're trying to say.

By setting up a jobs market for foreigners but not for Americans, and by allowing corporations to install immigrant intake machines at the expense of Americans? Yes. That's what needs fixing.

I'm in favor of legal immigration. I'm not in favor of H1Bs and the "default" pathway.

If we don't get educated and employed as Americans, then yes, we'll be committing suicide.

If someone's post-graduate work is that important, and that particular individual is so unbelievably critical to that particular post-doc work, then surely the fee would be worth it. If it's not, then advantaging the market for post-docs in America to actual Americans seems like a good thing, something governments are meant to do for their citizens.

Is there a reason the American government shouldn't be allowed to act on behalf of its citizens and must act in favor of everyone else?

Imagine my confusion when people started throwing around the officially accepted, in my native language, abbreviation for artificial intelligence.

We are actively watching SI diverge from strictly relying on human knowledge and now creating its own repository of knowledge while training on synthetic data using RLVR rather than human supervision. I don't think you realise that this trend is only going to continue to the point human language is going to stop being a crutch.

More like automating the assembling of Lego.

Some people enjoy building the Death Star or other big sets, or build their own Eiffel Tower.

Some other people just would like to have a Lego Eiffel Tower without having to assemble it themselves I guess.

Genuine question…

Why does this need to be a skill? Literally just ask Claude to “call out actions in these screenshots with numbered stylized arrows” and you get the same thing without burning tens of thousands of tokens in context.

> How many people, outside of tech geeks and megacorps care about RAM prices?

They don’t care about RAM prices, but they do care about the price of things that have RAM in them (or even NAND), and all of them are increasing way faster than inflation.

The US is a colony of Israel.

> People take offense.

Sounds like something a W-2 wage slave would say

Going to ask this here, but not sure there's a great answer. My 'homelab' runs mullvad over which I download my Linux ISOs. I tried to set up tailscale, with headscale on a $5 VPS, but the multiple VPN interfaces seemed like a challenge. Is this doable?

Fantastic product! Needs people talking over each other for greater authenticity, I reckon.

I get your point but cursor is fine. And it might be an unpopular opinion but grok 4.7 is also good inside cursor. So yes it might be acquired for a lot but it kinda worked for both parties well.

I love how words are politics. Be it white or Black.

We triple the price from one day to another and don’t answer support tickets on weekends.

Missed opportunity of intentionally introducing a few extra in this comment

Eh? I'm guessing you've never spoken to a European. Especially since Trump's second term (though not just because of Trump), Europeans generally have a bad view of US tech companies.

I wonder who committed said genocide... oh, yeah, the 1991 Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi.

>> Try starting the sprinkler with the button on the unit itself, then running out of the garden before you get soaked.

Go to the store. Buy a valve and some pipe. Mount the valve near the door like any other lazy person. Or, if the outside is too scary, buy an electric valve and wire it to an indoor light switch, maybe even a 10$ smart switch.

I know that it was self-deprecating, but that doesn't redeem it much to me. I also still find it pretty contradictory/ironic because he wrote A Course of Pure Mathematics when he was in his early thirties.

Sounds OpenShell locks filesystem access on sandbox creation - arguably the most important isolation feature, at least for my use cases. Architecturally it looks right though!

> I do think AI is going to change computer programming. Not as dramatically as some people think, but in some fundamental ways.

I agree with most of the observations, but this statement already hasn’t aged well.

When are you taking it?

> That's an user problem, isn't it?

Yes. And no. The affected users usually have no control over the situation, so if the site owner cares at all that those people can't access it, then it is effectively their problem as they can potentially do something about it.

If neither party cares enough, then it is nobody's problem.
