September 2026
1 September
Ukrainian drones attacked and damaged port infrastructure at Ust-Luga. The regional governor confirmed a fire at the port while claiming 38 drones had been shot down.[1]
Overnight Russian strikes killed 12 people, including six Ukrainian Railways employees, and injured 21 others in Kyiv and the surrounding area.[2]
President Zelenskyy warned "airlines, insurers, and foreign governments" to avoid Russian airspace as it "will be de facto closed" by Ukrainian drones. President Putin called such actions "state terrorism".[3]
2 September
The Proton-PM facility near Perm caught fire.[4]
A shootout broke out between units of the SBU and HUR in Kyiv. Three HUR officers were wounded during the firefight, two seriously, between both services involving the deputy head of the Russian Volunteer Corps, Stepan Kaplunov. The HUR accused the SBU of kidnapping Kaplunov, while the SBU accused Kaplunov of working with the FSB. President Zelenskyy subsequently fired SBU official Oleh Khramov, head of the SBU's department for the protection of state secrets.[5]
Some 27 flights to and from Moscow were cancelled by various international airlines due to Ukrainian threats to Russian airspace over the capital.[6]
3 September
The commander of the 22nd Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Division, Major General Nikolai Varpakhovich, was shot near the village of Probuzhdenie, near Engels-2 air base. Varpakhovich was shot twice, once in the face and once in the torso.[7] A Moldovan national accused of carrying out the attack was subsequently arrested by the FSB in Astrakhan Oblast.[8]
Ukrainian naval drones attacked Sochi, with explosions and smoke being reported over the port. Nine oil depots were destroyed, while the Russian vessel Nefrit was struck. A Ka-52 and an Mi-28 were destroyed while an Mi-8 was damaged at Sochi International Airport, also damaged were two radars and an S-300 missile system.[9][10] The PETRUS plant in Noginsk was set on fire by Ukrainian drones.[11]
4 September
A Russian drone hit the headquarters of the SBU in Kyiv, injuring 12 people.[12] Zelenskyy said that the attack was aimed at assassinating SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad.[13] Attacks were also carried out on two vessels in Odesa Oblast.[14]
In Sterlitamak, the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant and the Avangard Federal State Enterprise were struck by Ukrainian drones. At least 12 FP-1 drones were used in the attack. Both facilities produce explosives, synthetic rubber and aviation fuel, among other military products.[15]
The HUR struck a K-300P Bastion-P missile system in Crimea that was capable of firing Zircon and Onyx missiles.[16]
5 September
President Zelenskyy ordered a halt to attacks on Moscow from 5 to 8 September to allow U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to visit Kyiv and then Moscow for peace talks. Russian attacks killed four people and injured five others in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.[17][18][19]
President Putin ordered a halt to attacks on Kyiv, for three days starting from midnight on 6 September to allow US peace envoys to visit Kyiv and Moscow for talks.[20]
An explosion in Simferopol killed Anatoly Chernyshov, a pro-Russian fundraiser. He was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage by President Putin.[21]
6 September
The Lady Maria, a Russian-flagged sanctioned tanker, was struck 12 times near Sicily by Ukrainian drones launched from Libya. The vessel was travelling from Oran to Syria with suspected Iranian weapons on board.[22]
The Ryazan oil refinery was set ablaze by Ukrainian drones, while explosions and firing from air defences were reported in Bataysk.[23]
7 September
Ukrainian drones struck oil refineries in Ryazan and Perm Oblasts and Tatarstan, with smoke and/or fires being at all three locations.[24] Ukrainian drones struck the Taganrog-Central air base, striking an Mi-35 and an Mi-8.[25]
Two Russian Su-35Ss collided over Kursk Oblast. One pilot was killed, the second survived.[26]
8 September
Two people were killed in Russian airstrikes on Kyiv.[27]
Ukrainian drones attacked Saratov Oil Refinery, residents reported explosions and a fire.[28]
The EU approved the use of a loan for Ukraine to purchase 1,000 Patriot missiles.[29]
The ISW reported that a Ukrainian brigade commander operating in the Orikhiv direction claimed that the Russians had formed 120 assault groups, totaling "roughly" 150,000 personnel, to support offensive operations against the city.[30]
9 September
The Romanian Intelligence Service detained a Russian national suspected of trying to sabotage a Ukrainian aircraft in Romania.[31]
Ukrainian drones struck the naval base at Novorossiysk, with fires being reported at the seaport's fuel oil terminal and naval base.[32] Four people were killed in the attack.[33] The Russian frigate Admiral Essen was struck by a Neptune missile, starting a fire on the ship’s superstructure.[34] An Su-33 and an Mi-8 were also destroyed by Ukrainian drones.[35][36] Drones also attacked the Purovsky Gas Condensate Processing Plant, 3,200 km (2,000 mi) from the Ukrainian border, a record for FP-1 drones. Fires were reported at facility along with smoke, to avoid an explosion the plant released excess gas through the flare stacks.[37]
A Ukrainian naval drone struck Sochi, setting fire to the port embankment and injuring eight people. A concert by Tatiana Bulanova was evacuated.[38]
German defence minister Boris Pistorius said that Germany would transfer PAC2 missiles from Bundeswehr stocks to Ukraine.[39]
Norwegian prime minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced that President Zelenskyy’s aircraft was nearly struck by an UAV while taking off from Moldova the day before.[40]
10 September
Five people were killed in a Russian airstrike on a mall in Pavlohrad.[41] Two people were killed in an attack on an American oil extraction plant in Dnipro.[42]
Ukrainian drones struck Makhachkala, with reports of fires raging near the city’s port with the Caspian Sea.[43] One person was killed in a separate attack on Borisoglebsk, Voronezh Oblast.[44]
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that Canada was supplying a $350 Million CAD aid package to Ukraine in order to bolster Ukrainian air defenses.[45]
11 September
A Russian airstrike on Odesa Oblast destroyed the family apartment of tennis player Dayana Yastremska and left 37 injured and two missing across the region.[46]
Ukrainian drones struck an Ozon warehouse and an oil refinery, both in Saratov. The Ozon facility ceased operations due to the resulting fire.[47] Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo missiles struck the Volgogradpromproekt in Volgograd. The company has been sanctioned by the US since 2023, and manufactures ferrocene which is "used as a catalyst and combustion-rate modifier for composite solid rocket propellants."[48] The strike destroyed a 20 m × 15 m (66 ft × 49 ft) section of the plant’s main workshop.[49]
12 September
Ukrainian drones attacked a strategic chemical plant in Tolyatti and an airfield and automobile plant in Taganrog. A tank at the automobile plant in Taganrog caught fire and fires were reported at the airfield.[50]
A Ukrainian naval drone destroyed a Russian naval drone in the Black Sea, which the Ukrainian Navy described as the "This is the first-ever battle between unmanned naval boats".[51]
A Ukrainian aerial drone struck the Russian tanker Armada Leader near Sochi. The vessel was escorted by a helicopter that engaged the drone with gunfire.[52]
According to the ISW, HUR director Lieutenant General Oleh Ivashchenko claimed in an interview that Russian generals have asked President Putin to mobilize 800,000 additional troops after the 2026 Russian legislative election, "likely to sustain and enable Russian offensive operations in the face of enormous Russian casualty rates". He claimed that Russia's daily casualty rate exceeded their recruitment rate, with "about" 60 percent of casualties being killed in action, an "extraordinarily high ratio of killed to wounded when the standard ratio in modern war is 1:3". The ISW assessed that Russia does not currently possess the training and administrative capabilities to fully mobilize 800,000 new recruits, especially if they did so during their semi-annual October conscription cycle.[53]
The Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Force killed Russian Major General Anton Grunis during a raid in Horlivka.[54]
13 September
Ukrainian drones struck the TANECO refinery in Nizhnekamsk and the Slavyansky oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban.[55]
An unknown object flew from Belarus through Lithuanian airspace before reaching Kaliningrad.[56]
Russian drones attacked a fuel station in Yahodyn, Volyn Oblast,[57] and a Warsaw-bound train at Yahodyn railway station.[58][59]
14 September
A German-Ukrainian woman identified as "Ilona W." was charged by German authorities with providing intelligence to the Russian Embassy in Berlin. According to the case's prosecutor, "Ilona W." had been in contact with the Russian embassy since October 2023 and tried to convince members of the German Ministry of Defense to defect to Russia.[60]
HUR Chief, Lt. General Oleh Ivashchenko, claimed that Russia had recruited over 28,000 foreign mercenaries for the war in an attempt to "offset its battlefield losses". He also claimed that Russia could increase the number of North Korean troops in Kursk Oblast to 50,000, with 8,000 currently deployed there.[61]
15 September
Russia struck port utilities in Odesa.[62]
Ukrainian drones struck the Syzran Oil Refinery.[63]
The Atlant Aero drone factory in Taganrog was struck by Neptune missiles, resulting in a roof collapse.[64]
The 3rd Army Corps of Ukraine confirmed conducting counteroffensive operations called Operation Vivaldi to clear Russian forces from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, which includes countering the Russian salient northwest of Lyman in Donetsk oblast.[65][66]
Elena Astanina, a Ukrainian woman who was head of a section of the Russian election commission, was killed in a drone strike in Zhovtneve. She is accused of orchestrating “sham” Russian referendums in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Oblasts.[67]
16 September
Poland closed two airports at Lublin and Rzeszow for 40 minutes and scrambled fighter jets due to a Russian drone attack on Ukraine.[68]
Ukrainian forces retook Serednie, Donetsk Oblast.[66]
17 September
Poland said it would send up to 50 million euros worth of F-16 ammunition for Ukraine to shoot down Russian drones.[69]
Ukrainian drones hit two S-400 launchers in Bryansk Oblast,[70] an Su-24M at Saky airbase,[71] the Yaroslavl oil refinery, and a military airfield in Rostov Oblast.[72] Ukrainian drones attacked an airfield in Rostov, damaging a An-12, two An-26, and three more helicopters. Satellite imagery showed the “complete destruction” of two Mi-8 helicopters, another An-12 and a An-26.[73]
Three medical workers and the head of the medical advisory commission for Ternopil Oblast were arrested on suspicion of accepting bribes, ranging from $6,000 to $12,000, to give some 1,000 Ukrainians medical deferment certificates for military services, between 2024 and 2026.[74]
Ukraine repatriated the remains of some 252 deceased citizens from Russia.[75]
18 September
Two people were killed in a Russian attack on Zhytomyr Oblast.[76]
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed that 350 Ukrainian drones were shot down, including 64 on a “terminal approach” to Moscow, while the others were shot down over Moscow Oblast. Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports cancelled flights for several hours.[77]
Two Ukrainian companies completed “combat tests” of drones capable of intercepting Russian jet-powered Shahed drones.[78]
Estonia's intelligence chief, Col. Ants Kiviselg, claimed that Russian losses over the past week were 11,000, averaging 1,600 personnel killed and wounded per day. He also claimed that this was the third consecutive week that Russian troop losses exceeded 10,000.[79]
19 September
Three people were killed in a Russian drone attack on Kyiv Oblast.[80]
The Trump administration approved a potential $2.68 billion sale of air defense equipment to Ukraine, adding that the country would finance it using a combination of European contributions and US foreign military financing.[81] The package includes S-300 Clone missiles, GAM-67 anti-aircraft missiles, plus counter drone weapons such as laser guided rockets, drone detection equipment, spare parts and software.[82]
Russia claimed that it hit a Ukrainian cargo vessel and a tanker in the Black Sea region.[81]
The Russian Defence Ministry claimed to have intercepted some 344 Ukrainian drones over 16 regions of Russia. In Sochi the beaches were closed due to the threat of sea drones, the local airport suspended operations while voting in the city for the 2026 Russian legislative election was suspended for the day.[83]
President Trump signed into law the “Lindsey O Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026”, which in part allows President Trump to impose tariffs, of up to 100 percent, on buyers of Russian oil, including China and India.[84]
The SBU released footage of a new drone interceptor, which its counterintelligence unit developed, downing a Geran-5.[85]
Ukrainian drones struck targets near Kaspiysk, explosions were reported and helicopters were involved in intercepting drones. The Makhachkala Uytash Airport suspended flights.[86]
Alexander Isaev, commander of the Russian Army’s 8th Artillery Regiment, was killed by a Ukrainian drone strike. He was accused of previous war crimes while serving in Ukraine.[87]
20 September
Ukraine launched at least 1,000 drones towards Russia.[88] 249 drones were reported shot down over Moscow, with the Moscow Refinery being set ablaze. In total 288 drones were claimed shot down over 12 regions, drones or drone debris killed a woman in Sofyino and injured five others. A man was killed in an unspecified region in a private home. 400 people were evacuated due to a fire at an apartment building in Ramenskoye.[89][90] President Zelenskyy said that FP-5 Flamingo and FP-7 Pelican missiles were used during the attack.[91]
21 September
One person was killed in a Russian attack on Sumy and two in attacks on Kharkiv Oblast. One person was killed in Ukrainian attack on Bryansk Oblast.[92] In the night Russian drones damaged the biological department of Zaporizhzhia National University, housed inside a building built in 1902,[93] while a separate attack damaged the building of Sumy State University.[94]
22 September
One person was killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on Samara Oblast.[95]
Seven people were killed and seven injured by a Russian glide bomb attack in Izium, Kharkiv Oblast.[96][97]
One person was killed and four injured after FPV drone attacks in Kyivskyi District, Kharkiv. A car dealership and a car were also damaged.[98]
Ukrainian forces struck russian drone command posts near Novoselivka Persha and Dachne, Pokrovsk Raion, both in occupied Donetsk Oblast. A drone storage depot in occupied Volnovakha was also hit.[99]
A fuel depot was hit in Kalininskyi in occupied Luhansk Oblast. Two warehouses were also hit by Hirnyk, Donetsk Oblast and Velyka Shyshovka, both in occupied Donetsk Oblast.[99]
23 September
Russian forces took Markove, Donetsk Oblast.[100]
Ukrainian forces retook Shandryholove, Derylove, and Seredne, all in Donetsk Oblast.[100]
A state of emergency was declared in Krasnodar Krai due to Ukrainian drone attacks on transport and agricultural infrastructure.[101]
President Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had transferred two North Korean prisoners to South Korean custody. They were captured by Ukrainian forces during the Kursk campaign on 11 January 2025.[102]
Five people were killed and four injured in Russian attacks on Oleksandrivka, Donetsk Oblast. An apartment building was destroyed, with another 11 apartment buildings, 42 homes, and a shop being damaged.[103][104]
One person was killed and another injured in a Russian FPV drone attack in Druzhkivka.[105] One person was injured by shelling in Slatyne,[97] while another was injured in Staryi Saltiv, Kharkiv Oblast.[97]
Houses, cars and apartment buildings were damaged in Izium, Kharkiv Oblast after a russian artillery attack.[97]
A civilian car was damaged in Derhachi.[97] Private houses were also damaged in Bohodukhiv, as well as an apartment building in Lozova.[97] A petrol station in Shevchenkove (rural settlement), Kharkiv Oblast caught fire due to a russian UAV attack. An administrative building in Velykyi Burluk was also damaged.[97]
24 September
Ukrainian air defence intercepted sixty percent of ballistic missiles fire at Kyiv, during three waves, according to President Zelenskyy. Four Zircon missiles and three Iskander missiles were intercepted. Two were killed and eight injured.[106] The Maternity Hospital No. 2 was partially damaged.[107] The Holy Intercession Church in Podil, which was built in 1906, was also damaged.[108]
An apartment building in Khmelnytskyi was damaged from falling drone debris, displacing 35 people.[109]
A driver was killed in Kramatorsk when a Russian FPV drone attacked his lorry.[110]
A drone entered Romanian airspace, travelling for 3–4 minutes before crashing near Solca. Two Romanian F-16s and two Spanish F-18s were scrambled, school classes in the area were cancelled and air raid alerts activated. Police later found a “small UAV”.[111]
Six people were killed and 14 injured in a Russian attack on a farm in Stara Hnylytsia in Chuhuiv Raion, Kharkiv Oblast.[112][113]
25 September
Ukrainian drones struck the Lukoil refinery in Perm.[114] The Iskra electronics plant in Ulyanovsk and a synthetic rubber factory in Voronezh was damaged.[115] The Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery was damaged by Ukrainian drones, with 50 drones being shot down.[116]
Two people were injured and a hospital was damaged in strikes on Zaporizhzhia.[117]
A vehicle operated by two foreign journalists was destroyed in Sloviansk.[118]
A Russian Shahed drone attack hit an apartment building in a residential neighborhood of Kyiv, killing a child.[119]
A hypermarket was attacked by drones in occupied Luhansk, causing a fire.[120]
A Russian radar in occupied Semenivske, Donetsk Oblast was hit by Ukrainian strikes at night. An ammunition depot in Sievierodonetsk was also hit.[121]
26 September
Russian authorities claimed that a Ukrainian drone strike killed three people in Krasnodar. Ukraine said that it struck Ilsky Oil Refinery.[122]
Three lorries were damaged and three people were injured in a Russian attack in Odesa.[123]
Two people were killed and three injured in a Russian guided aerial bomb attack in Sumy.[124]
Ukrainian Neptune missiles, plus Ruta, Palianytsia, and Bars missile drones, struck the Azov Optical-Mechanical Plant in the Rostov region. Strikes on railway cars, carrying fuel and lubricants, were also reported.[125]
President Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had reached an interception rate of fifty-five percent for Russian jet powered drones and ninety percent for piston powered drones.[126]
27 September
Former Commander-in-Chief of Ukrainian Armed Forces General Oleksandr Syrskyi, claimed that Ukraine had developed an active protection system that could intercept 60-80% of fpv drones fired at Ukrainian armoured vehicles.[127]
28 September
A Russian Shahed drone struck the historic building in Kyiv which houses the Presidium of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, killing two people and injuring six, including former Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Volodymyr Horbulin.[128][129] Attacks on the city injured 24 people and damaged a medical center, pharmaceutical plant and other buildings.[130] Russian strikes also killed three and injured 18 in Dnipro, killed one in Synelnykove, injured 43 in Kharkiv, injured 32 in Zaporizhzhia, and injured three in Odesa.[131][132]
Russia said that it struck a cargo ship in the Black Sea and another at port in Chornomorsk. Ukrainian attacks set three facilities ablaze in Krasnodar, while defense plants in Tula and Voronezh Oblast were targeted.[132]
Ukrainian forces took Nove, Ridkodub, Katerynivka, Karpivka, and Novomykhailivka, all in Donetsk Oblast.[133][134]
29 September
A Tu-95MS crashed in the Amur region, killing the crew of eight onboard. Three of the dead, Major Andrei Lobanov, Major Andrei Gerasimov and Lieutenant Colonel Fyodor Pavlyukov, were listed by Ukrainian analysts as “participants in or organizers of missile strikes” against Ukraine.[135]
30 September
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have encircled and captured Dobropillya and Marine (east of Sumy). However, independent data from the Institute for the Study of War and the Ukrainian battlefield command confirmed that Ukrainian forces successfully repelled these maneuvers while maintaining firm control over both towns.[136]
October 2026
1 October
Ukraine claimed 46,320 Russian casualties in September, the highest so far in 2026 and the third consecutive month where their casualties exceeded 40,000. This is a forty-six percent increase from January 2026. The ISW reported that for these losses, "Russian forces likely at best gained no ground".[137][138]
An explosion at the Krasnozavodsk Chemical Plant killed at least seven workers and caused the roof of the plant to collapse. The plant was attacked previously by Ukrainian drones on 20 September 2026 as it makes ammunition for Russian Geran drones.[139]
President Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine used a FP-7 tactical ballistic missile in combat for the first time, at an unspecified target, with the next step being production.[140]
A Russian missile shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29, killing the pilot, Captain Marat Redvanovych Mambetov, over "eastern Ukraine" during a combat mission. At the time he was the flight commander of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade.[141]
France started training Ukrainian pilots how to fly the Rafale fighter jet.[142]
A Mi-8 was shot down by a Su-35S, in a friendly fire incident, over Voronezh Oblast killing all three crew onboard. The helicopter was mistaken for a drone.[143]
2 October
Ukrainian drones struck oil refineries in both Volgograd and Samara regions, resulting in fires at both facilities.[144]
A Ukrainian Mirage 2000-5F shot down a S8000 Banderol with its onboard 30 mm DEFA 554, in a first kill of its kind.[145]
A car bomb killed the driver of a vehicle in Novomoskovsk, Russia, the driver was believed to have be involved in the war in Ukraine.[146]
Spain, Belgium, and Poland have started transferring 20 mm caliber cannon shells for Ukrainian F-16s to shoot down Russian jet powered drones.[147]
3 October
Ukrainian drones struck the windows and balconies of several apartment buildings in Kaluga.[148]
According to Moldovan President, at least five Russian weapons entered and exploded on Moldovan territory, including Banderol missiles and drones.[149]
Ukrainian strikes targeted Iskander missile launch sites in Bryansk Oblast.[150]
Russian Major Alexei Karavaev, Commander of 11th Tank Regiment accused of killing Ukrainian prisoners in 2024 was killed by Ukrainian artillery.[151]
Ukrainian forces took a part of forest northeast of Vovchanski Kuthory, Kharkiv Oblast.[152]
Russia claimed that it took Nesternoi, Rubel Noi, and Vusakaya Yeruga, all in Kharkiv Oblast. The ISW was unable to confirm the advances.[153]
4 October
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited Kyiv, promising €1 billion for military aid, along with €350 million for energy repairs.[154]
Ukrainian drones struck the Khanskaya air base,[155] striking a Su-34, a Su-35 and aircraft refuelling facilities.[156]
Russian forces struck the Pivnichnyi Bridge in Kyiv, injuring two people.[157]
A Russian strike in Sumy's Kovpakivskyi District killed one person and injured three others, other attacks in Sumy injured 13 people.[158]
A report by the UN Human Rights Office stated that at least 15,280 Ukrainian civilians had been killed or injured during the first eight months of 2026, or 400 every week. This is a 55 percent increase from the same period in 2025. On the frontline, nearly 2,500 civilians were killed or wounded by Russian glide bombs, a 62 percent increase from 2025.[159]
5 October
An automated turret, fitted with a M2 Browning machine gun and using artificial intelligence, shot down a Russian Geran-5 drone for the first time.[160]
Russia tested barrage balloons as an anti-drone defence.[161]
Russian drones sunk the Turkish owned ship Royad Mammadov, in the Black Sea while carrying grain from Ukraine to Italy. The captain was killed, while eleven crew members were rescued.[162] A Bulgarian tanker taking grain to Romania was also sunk with 18 crew being rescued.[163]
6 October
The SBU arrested a man accused of being recruited by the FSB, who was alleged to have set up repeater stations in Kyiv, during late September, to help guide Russian Geran-5 drones and ballistic missiles.[164]
Ukraine announced that its 12 civilians escaped the Russian occupation of Oleshky, due to ongoing starvation in the city.[165]
Ukrainian drones attacked the Volodarsk Linear Production and Dispatch Center, located in Konstantinovo, Moscow Oblast. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed Ukraine launched 650 drones attacked the capital, with air defences intercepting 105 of them.[166]
The AFRAMAX RIO, a Liberian flagged crude oil tanker, was attacked by drones near Sochi, resulting in a fire breaking out.[167]
7 October
The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed to have intercepted 311 Ukrainian drones over 17 regions.[168]
According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi, Ukraine received a loan from the EU worth €1.2 Billion as part of the EU's Ukraine Support Loan program.[169]
At least 26 people, including five children were killed in Russian strikes on Ukraine.[170]
A HUR Sargan-3000 USV shot down a "Shahed type attack drone" over the Black Sea with machine guns.[171]

Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, in Salavat, was attacked by Ukrainian drones, resulting in a fire.[172] Russian air defenses were active for 12 hours over 20 locations, with over 400 drones involved, with the Russian Ministry of Defense claiming 399 interceptions or suppression.[173] A 57-year-old man was killed during a Ukrainian drone attack on Podolsk, a 37-year-old woman was injured, and flights at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports were suspended.[174]
Ukrainian forces attacked a Yandex data center and a Sasta machine-tool plant in Sasovo. A large fire reportedly caused "major disruptions" to the Yandex Cloud, including internet connection and power supplies.[175]
Ukrainian FP-1 drones attacked the Omsk refinery, which is about 2,500 kilometers (1,550 miles) from occupied Ukraine. The video of the attack showed smoke, explosions, and fire.[176]
At least 30 people are killed in Russian strikes that hit two passenger buses in Kramatorsk.[177]
South Korea recalled its ambassador to Ukraine after President Zelenskyy revealed that two captured North Korean prisoners had been transferred to South Korea. South Korea claimed it breached a confidential agreement, and while Ukraine offered an apology, it wasn’t the level they expected.[178]

Redkino Experimental Chemical Plant in Tver was attacked by Ukrainian drones. It produces fuel for Kh-101 and Kh-55 cruise missiles plus other chemicals used in Russia’s aviation, aerospace, and other industrial sectors.[179] An oil depot in northern Belgorod was set on fire by Ukrainian drones.[180] The Ukhta oil refinery was also attacked by Ukrainian drones, with black smoke rising from it.[181] A Yandex data center, in Kaluga, was damaged by an Ukrainian drone attack. The full extent of the damage is unknown.[182]
