    Sometime in the last ~two model releases from the big labs they went from “this would be acceptable output from the median low-seniority coworker” to “this is frighteningly good.” I think people who are not daily users of the models are unlikely to grok that, so, saying it.

    This argument was also made about money market funds and stablecoins but continues to run into “3% on $8k is not enough money to justify thinking about this.” It’s hard enough when it is 3% on $100k for a small business account.

    Fascinating. Chief Economist at Apollo: agents could cause a bank run by sweeping household cash into accounts paying 3-5% instead of the 0.1% national average, causing banks to lose a large share of their cheap deposits.

    After the Hugging Face incident, we committed to conducting a much broader review of actions taken by our models during training and evaluation and to being transparent about our findings. This is an extensive review that is ongoing. The vast majority of actions we’ve reviewed
