Rails 8.2 adds to_markdown to Action Text. Headings, links, lists, code blocks, tables and attachments all convert, so rich text can go straight into an LLM prompt or a Markdown API. Pass attachment_links: true to turn Active Storage attachments into real URLs.

Rails 8.2 gives JSON columns a schema. has_json declares keys with defaults, and assigned values are cast to the default's type, so "100" becomes 100. has_delegated_json puts the keys straight on the model: account.staff?

🔥 Credential lookups now save 2 CPU cycles. It only runs on x86-64 Linux. Lines of code: 4 → 75. Your AWS keys are sitting in .bss with no zeroing, because memory safety is a Rust thing.
