Yes, I *am* that ESR. Well, it's the question people usually ask. Programmer, wandering philosopher, accidental anthropologist, troublemaker for liberty.

If you understand the code, tested it, and can adjust it to pass our checks, you can submit them to Redot, even if AI was used to make it. Good and functional code is ok with us, regardless of who made it or what tools were used. We've turned down some AI generated PRs in the

I have 19 patches to Godot engine that improve performance and stability, fix many bugs, add much better support for HOTAS, and add optional instrumentation and better profiling support. They’re pretty good. I spend time on this stuff and don’t want slop in my code base. But

I hate to tell ya, Satya... no, who am I kidding, I *love* to tell ya: it's too late. It's far, far too late for you. The scale and speed of the AI-assisted reverse engineering of the Adobe suite means doom is coming to Excel and Office and Windows itself. These things can be

JUST IN: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella urgently calls for an “emergency brake” on advanced AI development.

Satya Nadella did not call for an “emergency brake” on advanced AI development. His post describes containment for deployed models (assuming compromise), analogizing one principle to “an emergency brake” for pausing them if needed. snscratchpad.com/posts/models-a… x.com/satyanadella/s…

There is a faction of open-source developers who are screaming about AI being evil and barring it from their projects. I'm getting a very strong impression that these are mostly the same people who were brain-rotted by the woke mind virus before that fever broke. Am I

But the first sentence is correct, even if the rest of it is not! I have trained in multiple martial arts, including striking, grappling, and weapons styles. I know what their use cases are. And yes, the problem with going to ground fighting is that you lose tactical mobility

Holy fuck…. “Grappling can’t be the best because you can only fight 1 person at a time. That’s why my preferred striking martial art that also exclusively trains to fight 1v1 would be superior in this hypothetical situation I made up.”

I agree with all this except for the part where he implies the boys weren't "nice". They gave Craig what she asked for and respected "no" every time she said it. Two of them even white-knighted to stop the proceedings because they thought she was too intoxicated. You really

Rape is best understood as “sex by violence.” It is not a “moral question,” it is a serious crime. Its definition has been expanded to “sex without consent” to include other sex that is not explicitly violent but is also criminal, such as sex with unconscious or incapacitated

Very thoughtful piece by @ChristineEmba about Cornell noting that in sexual matters we are fixated on consent, perhaps understandably, but that's a legal question and a floor; there's also the moral question of how someone like Jane Doe is (mis)treated.
