I'm squarely in the camp of believing that there is an insatiable demand for software, and until that stops, software engineers are going to be in overwhelmingly short supply in the long term. AI is forcing companies to recalibrate their resources (we're all seeing that now with

Realistically I think most tech jobs are a thing of the past with AI to be honest Right now we're seeing hiring stops everywhere, next will be layoffs I think What will remain is tech founders who build things with entire AI teams which @shl says too and I believe he's right

I mean, I get it if you don’t want investors to have pro rata. But if that’s the case, don’t give it to them in the first place! The reason this is yuck is that Valar committed to it, and then pulled the rug out from under Day One once it didn’t suit them. That—not the

The Nobel Prizes are all but dead in anything but the hard sciences, like math, physics, or biology. Shame.

look i love the idea behind this, but it's critical to put this into appropriate context. list rates for @poteto's token usage come out to: ~$270k - $500k per day ~$1.9M - $3.5M per week ~$8M - $15M per month at 100 PRs per day, that's about $500 - $1000 per PR. obviously

volume does matter look, i get it. if you were an engineer before agents came along, you're rightfully skeptical about lines of code and number of PRs being used as a metric for any kind of productivity. and i agree! or at least, i used to. for ease of explanation i will talk

Can someone help me understand how shipping 100s PRs a day makes sense? Why do you need to ship so many PRs in the first place? I might just not be AI-pilled enough to understand the need for it yet, so I’m genuinely trying to understand it.

@grok how much does SpaceXAI pay for @poteto's tokens daily / weekly / monthly?

Lauren burns tens of billions of tokens per day. Her company subsidizes all of it. Given that, take what she says wrt token usage with a grain of salt. Her advice is likely not applicable to you, since most engineers live in a world where token use is a constraint.
