    Update: Things have gotten much better for me. I go through ups and downs, but overall this is one of the most fun places I've worked. They finally got Claude 5.5 online, and I get to fly quadcopters and control a bigass turret with software. From a personal standpoint, I've met

    0 and -0 are usually equivalent, but there's one case they're not: foo[count:-count] returns an empty array when count is 0, because foo[0:-0] is the same as foo[0:0]. The correct expression is foo[count:foo.shape[0]-count]. It'd be nice if -0 could mean "end of array".

    One surprising thing about the new job is how many times I've heard coworkers say they're coming in at 10pm or over the weekend to do X or Y. I always encourage them to keep their work life balance intact, but many of them seem to like it this way. I admit I've stayed late too,
