The extensive settlement was discovered at Galgenbichl in Niederrasen, SouthTyrol, where archaeological excavations have been taking place since February ahead of the construction of a new access road serving Antholz and Olang.
The hydropower investments will renew major generation plants in SouthTyrol that produce more than 3 000 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity, enough to power around 1.16 million households in Italy.
