Sweat Wallet and the SWEAT token as they exist today end on 30 December 2026

Published 1 October 2026, 15:00 London time. Last updated: 1 October 2026, 14:59 London time. Press release: PDF.

The Sweat Foundation Ltd, the company behind the Sweat Wallet app and the SWEAT token, has announced that Sweat Wallet and SWEAT in their present form will end on 30 December 2026. Until then the app keeps working and you keep earning. You have 90 days to secure your account and your assets. This page tells you what is happening, what to do, and by when.

Key dates

What to do before 30 December 2026

Do these four things. Each takes a few minutes.

  1. Back up your private key and your NEAR account ID. In the app go to Profile, then Security, then View Private Key, then Copy private key. Save it in a password manager or another secure place, together with your account ID, which you can find by going to the Wallet tab, then Receive, then Copy your NEAR account ID. Backing up the key does not change anything in the app. It means you hold the key outside the app and can control your account from any NEAR wallet that supports private key import, such as Meteor Wallet or HOT Wallet, even if Sweat Wallet is no longer available.

DO NOT remove any magic keys or the secret phrase login methods, as that can make the backed up private key unusable.

  2. Claim your earned SWEAT. Open the app and claim any unclaimed SWEAT into your wallet.

  3. Withdraw from your Grow Jars when you choose. Jars keep working and earning during the window. From 15 October at the latest there is no minimum term, so you can withdraw principal and yield at any time.

  4. If you hold balances on Ethereum, Base, BSC or Arbitrum inside the app, move them to another wallet you control, swap or bridge them to your NEAR account, while the app is running. Instructions for managing these balances after the app ends will be published on this page before 30 December.

What happens next

Until 30 December 2026 the app, the token and the smart contracts keep running as they do today. One change makes it easier to act: the minimum term on Grow Jars is removed for existing and new jars no later than 15 October 2026.

After 30 December 2026 the app and the services around it end in their present form. The SWEAT token continues to exist on NEAR and on the EVM chains where it is bridged, and can be held and transferred in any compatible wallet. When the Foundation closes the claim and Grow Jar contracts, after 30 December 2026, any unclaimed SWEAT and any Grow Jar balance, with yield calculated as at 30 December 2026, is sent to the NEAR account that owns it. The Foundation announces the closure on this page. You need your private key to use that account. Balances on Ethereum, Base, BSC and Arbitrum remain accessible for as long as NEAR Chain Signatures operate, but managing them without the app requires some technical knowledge, so move them out before 30 December. The Foundation will publish on this page, in the first week of December 2026, what happens after 30 December 2026 and when, including instructions for users who did not claim their assets within the window.

Where to get help

Everything you need is on this page. We never contact you first by direct message, and we never ask for your private key or seed phrase. Our only official websites are swe.at, including update.swe.at, and sweateconomy.com. Anyone who offers to “help you recover” your SWEAT is not us.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is ending on 30 December 2026?

Sweat Wallet and the SWEAT token as they exist today: the app, the minting of SWEAT for verified movement, and the services around them (jars, offers, raffles, quests, the DAO, fee payment with SWEAT). The token itself continues to exist on NEAR and on the EVM chains where it is bridged.

Why is this happening?

The economics of the current model have not held. A prolonged downturn in crypto markets, the loss of exchange listings for SWEAT, the cost of responding to the security incident of April 2026 (after which all user balances were restored) and slowing growth in new users put sustained pressure on the Foundation’s revenue and treasury. The team worked to reach sustainable profitability and came close, but did not get there. The board decided to end the current model in an orderly way, with a full 90 days’ notice, rather than let it run on until it could no longer meet its obligations.

Does the app keep working until 30 December?

Yes. Until 30 December 2026 the app, the token and the smart contracts run as they do today, and you keep earning SWEAT for your movement for as long as movement verification data is supplied by Sweatcoin, as it is today.

What happens after 30 December 2026?

The app and the services around it end in their present form. The Foundation will publish on this page, in the first week of December 2026, what happens after 30 December 2026 and when. Nothing is promised for after 30 December beyond the continued existence of the token contracts on-chain and the distribution of unclaimed SWEAT and Grow Jar balances described above.

Will there be a new version of Sweat Wallet or SWEAT?

The Foundation is examining whether the app and the token can continue in a new form and will publish its conclusion in the first week of December 2026. No new form is promised.

Your account and your private key

Why do I need to back up my private key?

Every Sweat Wallet account is a NEAR account. The private key is what controls it. If you have the key saved outside the app, you control your account and everything in it from any NEAR wallet, even after Sweat Wallet is gone. If you do not, you may lose access to your account and assets when the app ends.

How do I back up my private key?

In the app: Profile, then Security, then View Private Key, then Copy private key. Save it in a password manager or another secure place, together with your NEAR account ID. Never share the key with anyone, including us.

Does backing up the key change anything in the app?

No. The key stays in the app and the app keeps working. Backing up means you also hold a copy.

Which wallets can I use with my key?

Any NEAR wallet that supports importing a private key, for example Meteor Wallet or HOT Wallet. Import the key and your account, with all its balances, appears there.

Should I create a seed phrase for my account?

Optional. Your private key is sufficient to control your account from another wallet. Some wallets and tools let you add a seed phrase to an existing account; not all do. If you do it, do it after you have claimed and withdrawn.

I lost my phone or deleted the app. Can I recover my account?

Only with your private key or seed phrase. The Foundation cannot recover an account for you.

Claiming SWEAT

How do I claim my earned SWEAT?

In the app, open your balance and claim. Claimed SWEAT sits in your NEAR account.

What happens to SWEAT I have not claimed by 30 December?

It is sent to your NEAR account when the Foundation closes the claim contract, after 30 December 2026. You need your private key to use that account. Claim it before 30 December to keep it simple.

Do I keep earning SWEAT for my steps until 30 December?

Yes, for as long as movement verification data is supplied by Sweatcoin, as it is today.

Grow Jars

What happens to my jars?

Jars keep working and earning until 30 December 2026. From 15 October at the latest there is no minimum term, so you can withdraw principal and yield at any time.

What if I leave a balance in a jar after 30 December?

Principal and yield, calculated as of 30 December 2026, are sent to your NEAR account when the Foundation closes the jar contract. You need your private key to use that account. Withdraw before 30 December to keep it simple.

I have a jar whose term ends after 30 December. Do I lose the yield?

No. From 15 October at the latest the minimum term is removed, and you can withdraw principal and the yield earned to that point at any time.

Balances on other chains (Ethereum, Base, BSC, Arbitrum)

What do I do with balances on other chains held in the app?

Move them to another wallet you control, or bridge them to your NEAR account, while the app is running.

What if I do not move them before the app ends?

Instructions for managing those balances after the app ends, using your NEAR private key, will be published on this page before 30 December 2026. They depend on NEAR Chain Signatures, which the Foundation does not control, so moving your balances during the window is the safe choice.

Sweat Max subscriptions

What happens with my Sweat Max subscription?

Your subscription runs without changes until 30 December 2026. If your paid period runs past that date, request a refund for the unused period through the App Store or Google Play at or around that date. If that does not work, write to support@swe.at.

Will I be charged again?

Annual subscriptions are being withdrawn from sale. Monthly and weekly subscriptions remain available for now and are withdrawn from sale before the end of the window. Renewals stop where the store allows.

Deleting your account

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Account deletion will be further improved before 15 October 2026. Deletion removes your personal data from our systems, such as your Apple or Google ID or email. You cannot log in to the same account again. Delete only after you have moved all assets to another account you control.

Sweatcoin

How does this affect my Sweatcoin experience?

Sweatcoin is a separate app operated by Sweatco Ltd. These changes should not affect your sweatcoins, the in-app currency of the Sweatcoin app, or your participation in Sweatcoin app activities. For SWEAT, nothing changes during the 90-day window: you keep earning SWEAT from your movement as you do today, and Sweat Wallet keeps working until 30 December 2026. For anything about the Sweatcoin app itself, please follow Sweatcoin’s own channels.

SWEAT on exchanges and in other wallets

I hold SWEAT on an exchange or in another wallet. Do I need to do anything?

No. The SWEAT token contracts on NEAR and on the EVM chains where it is bridged continue to operate, and nothing changes to them before 30 December 2026. Whether you keep, move or sell your SWEAT is your decision. The Foundation has provided liquidity to the SWEAT/wNEAR pool on rhea.finance; where and whether to convert SWEAT is each holder’s own decision.

Will SWEAT be delisted from exchanges?

Listing decisions are made by each platform, not by the Foundation. Liquidity may fall.

What happens to the token contract after 30 December?

The Foundation has not decided and will publish its decision in the first week of December 2026. Nothing changes to the token contract before 30 December 2026.

NEAR validator

I have NEAR staked with the Sweat validator (sweat_validator.poolv1.near). What do I do?

The validator stops on 31 October 2026. Unstake or redelegate to another validator before then. Unstaking takes several epochs to complete.

Scams and safety

How do I know a message is from you?

We never contact you first by direct message on any platform, and we never ask for your private key or seed phrase. Our only official websites are swe.at, including update.swe.at, and sweateconomy.com. Our only email address for this announcement is update@swe.at. Anyone offering to “recover” your SWEAT, to “migrate” your account, or asking for your key is not us.

Regulatory

Where is the regulatory information about SWEAT?

SWEAT’s crypto-asset white paper under Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (MiCA) is at whitepaper.swe.at/mica-compliant-white-paper. On 1 October 2026 the Foundation notified a modified white paper to the Central Bank of Ireland; it is published at the same address on 12 October 2026.
