The Issue: The former Cornell University student who alleges she was raped by seven frat brothers in 2024.
I disagree with Heather Mac Donald’s vicious characterization of Jane Doe (“Campus Farce,” PostOpinion, Oct. 8).
She didn’t play the assault card.
I believe she was assaulted and raped by several men who texted others to join in on the assault.
The article shifts attention away from the actual events and toward judging the character of the person who suffered the harm.
According to Mac Donald, “the only good news to come out of this” is that “Jane Doe’s peers viewed her as a ‘slut.’ ”
This is exactly why so many campus rapes go unreported.

Regardless of whether the Cornell students are guilty, college campuses are places of depravity and left-wing ideology.
Administrations ignore underage drinking, drug use and sexual misconduct while continually increasing tuition.
The government should no longer provide funding.
Learning technical skills is a better option.

College campuses are not equipped to handle criminal matters that reach the severity of rape allegations. A sole investigator can be handling both a stolen laptop and an allegation of rape in their case files.
A college would stand aside in a homicide case. It needs to consider doing the same in alleged rape cases.
If anything, campus police can assist by preserving evidence, protecting the crime scene and gathering witnesses.
If the Cornell University president is open to re-evaluation, he might want to take this into consideration.

In its typical fashion, The Post illuminates just how difficult it will be to convict any of the men involved in the Cornell case due to numerous ambiguities (“Case will be tough to make,” Oct. 3).
However, what is not ambiguous is the fact that nothing good happens after midnight. In a perfect world, the presence of alcohol or drugs in a student’s possession should be met with expulsion.

This incident at Cornell University is now two years old and still this pack of wolves hasn’t been brought to justice.
Supposedly, two students have been expelled, and the remaining five are allowed to continue their education.
A few of the frat members had to write essays as punishment as if that would cleanse their souls.
The fraternity is now shut down, but it will always be remembered as the place where, I believe, Jane Doe was raped by the “Cornell 7.”

The Issue: President Trump’s comment about Iran taking out Los Angeles or San Diego at his recent rally.
Miranda Devine excuses every single outrageous thing President Trump says or does (“Desperate Dem bombastic lie,” Oct. 8).
When he stated in regard to Iran’s nuclear threat, “Let them take out Los Angeles; let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay,” the crowd loudly cheered.
He knew exactly what he was implying when he chose to cite two liberal cities in California.
He did not say, “Let them take out Mar-A-Largo. This is a small price to pay.”
Moreover, the words “Let them take out” instead of “They might take out” clearly imply encouragement rather than a warning.

Trump has suggested that Iran might attack Los Angeles and San Diego.
I used to live in Los Angeles and, to borrow from Humphrey Bogart when he’s speaking to a Nazi in “Casablanca”: Well, there are certain sections of the city that I wouldn’t advise Iran try to invade.
